Bacon and Tomato Sandwiches 🥓🍅

This is the “unofficial” sandwich of a Southern summer. It is incredibly simple, but there is a very specific way to build it so it doesn’t get soggy and every bite is perfect.

The star of the show is the tomato. It has to be a big, ripe, juicy garden tomato (like a Beefsteak or Heirlooom).


The Ultimate Bacon and Tomato Sandwich

1. The Ingredients

  • 2 slices White Bread (thick-cut “Texas Toast” style or a good sturdy sourdough)

  • 4 to 6 slices Thick-cut Bacon

  • 1 large Ripe Tomato (sliced thick)

  • 2 tablespoons Duke’s Mayonnaise (or your favorite heavy mayo)

  • Salt and Black Pepper (freshly cracked is best)
